Q: How do Value-Based Payments work?
We compare Value-based payments to 401k matching funds in a corporate environment. Medicare is providing matching funds, in the form of a percentage of shared savings to the Medicare program. You may be providing services that already help achieve shared savings; Annual Wellness Visits, Care Management and/or Transitional Care Management Services, and reducing Emergency Department visits.
Q: Is this just for Medicare?
For the moment, but we will start leveraging these activities when contracting with Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid MCO.
